Picky Eaters Paradise (Chips)
Picky Eaters Paradise
Growing up as a kid, I constantly struggled with being able to try new foods. Staying safe with the classic chicken nuggets and French fries' combination, I constantly fought my mom as she attempted to make me eat anything other than my nuggets! As I began to grow a little older, I gained a sense of insecurity when eating with friends because of my lack of enjoyment towards other foods. As a result, I have created this blog to share my experiences with trying to expand my palate with new foods and teaching you how to make the recipes as well.
My name is Owen, and I am a recovering picky eater. Although I don't enjoy admitting it, I am a picky eater. From common fried food to the occasional soup or sandwich, my palate is not very expanded. However, my goal is to get out of my comfort zone and share the recipes I try in order to inform, but also maybe inspire other picky eaters to get out of their shells as well.
One of the first recipes I made on my own were potato chips. Not the store-bought ones, however, but probably even better. Using classic russet potatoes, and a little bit of oil, in about 5-10 minutes you're one food closer to becoming less and less of a picky eater like me!
- Slice russet potatoes thinly on a cutting board.
- Place thinly sliced potato chips into cold water until ready to fry.
- Heat a pan of oil on high around 325 degrees (or until ready to fry).
- Drop chips into the oil lightly, facing away from you.
- Flip as they cook and place on a plate with a paper towel when finished cooking. (Look for a light brown color).
- Lighty salt (Or use seasoned salt if you're feeling adventurous)
- Then enjoy your newest creation.
This is your mother. I love you. Keep trying new things. Also, I always let you eat chicken nuggs. :)
