Picky Eaters Paradise
Hello fellow picky eaters, Its Owen here! This week I kept the foods that I made simple because the food i have been making have been out of the ordinary. From squirrel to pigeon, I have been getting a little funky on the picky eating terms. Today, I remade my smash burgers that I previously made. However, I am going to give my thoughts on how it went and what I did wrong and what could've gone better.
So, as I just explained, i remade my smash burgers. This week i was a little disappointed to say the least because of the final product. The burgers were very good of course. However, they were on the dryer side just because I tried to cook them longer than usual. The buns I chose were not ideal and weren't a good partner when placed with the 85 lean 15 fat ground beef I used. (Recommended 80 lean 20 fat).
- Get ground beef. (80% lean 20% fat)
- Divide and make into balls. (Around the size of a lemon)
- Heat a pan on high heat.
- Drop the ball of meat onto the hot pan.
- With a spatula or pan wrapped in tin foil, smash the burgers to a thin patty.
- Cover one side with salt and pepper. (Only one side needs to be seasoned)
- Smash once more if the meat shrinks up too thick.
- Let it cook until the edges begin to brown.
- Then flip.
- Thirty seconds later or when the sizzling slows slightly, add a slice of cheese to the top. (Single yellow slices do the trick)
- Wait for the cheese to melt to the patty and pull it from the pan.
- (If you want to go the extra mile you can toast your buns in the grease of the burger to warm and crispy up the buns)
- Add your condiments of choice.
- Then enjoy your newest creation.
